Halloween is in the air today and in the spirit we will pour the scariest, howlingest, most feared wines on the planet! Either that or we'll have Jamie Pollack from Andrew Bell Selections to tempt you with wines from close to home (Long Island), and as far away as you can get without speaking Martian (South Africa). We''l have treats for the kids and dogs too! Yes, we did say dogs...Happy Halloween!!!!!

Take an autumnal holiday down the river Gironde then southward toward Lyon as Wines by Girard's Nicholas Tharp whisks you away to the magical world of Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley. Nicholas will feature sought-after small production gems from one of the most famous wine producing regions on the planet. Proust!

On October 16, 1969, the Amazin' Mets shocked the world and won the World Series. On October 16, 2004, Nancy's will shock your palate (in a good way), when Farnum Hill will pour their awesome ciders!

So you think you know Lambrusco? Fuggehdaboutit...
We'll pour the coolest, most summery sparkling Lambrusco known to man, the Tenuta Quercioli 'Solo', a frizzante (slightly sparkling) gem from northern Italy. Along side of this we'll also offer up a couple of our favorite Italian roses, perfect for the season. Perfetto! Ciao Bella!Thursday July 29
It's Greek night at Nancy's!
Bring your grape leaves and feta, or just bring yourself down because Karen Connery from Amerikus Selections will be tasting you on one of our best Greek whites, the 2003 Mosho Filero. This is the same wine featured by the New York Times Howard Goldberg in his July 18 column.

Summertime on the Loire
Loire Valley wines will be poured by Ross Wasserman of the Loire Valley Wine Bureau. Be sure to stop in from 2-5pm and try all the newest and best offerings from what is shaping up to be a stellar vintage in the Loire. Ross will be pouring all of your favorites, including Vouvray, Chenin Blanc from other towns and Cabernet Francs. Our appearance on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" was such a popular episode that it's been rerun numerous times, with the latest being on NBC in the time slot competing with halftime of the Super Bowl.
And though our show didn't produce the quite the sensation of the other nonsense, we've received lots of press none the less.
And...we've got the secret-behind-the-scenes pics you've all been waiting for!
We were rated the #3 most popular wine shop in NYC by the 2003 Zagat marketplace, finishing only behind 2 well known behemoths who wouldn't know a good $6 bottle of wine unless we recommended it...just kidding of course, they're good liquor stores.
We got to be #3 because of what we do, not how much we have.
In case this is your first trip here, we're the ONLY wine shop in town that tastes EVERY wine before we buy it.
And regardless of how deep a discount we may receive from the importer, (meaning we could make way more profit), if we don't like it, we don't buy it. Period.
We we're nominated this past November for the New York City Small Business Association for retailer of the year.
Jason and Julya represented us at the black tie affair, and though we didn't win, we we're proud to be one only 3 finalists.
